BALTIMORE CLAYWORKS SEEKS COMMUNITY ARTISTS
The community arts program at Baltimore Clayworks seeks community artists with a background in ceramics interested in teaching in a variety of after school/ community settings. We are looking for part time teachers with flexible hours to start immediately. Applicants must have their own transportation. The arts have been under funded for decades. The arts can be used as a research tool. Example: Instead of making a clay pot, the person will make a clay pancreas. Art with a Heart leads interactive, hands-on art classes and activities for underserved adults, adolescents, children and families. Our unique classes are offered at group housing facilities, shelters, community centers, and alternative schools. Volunteer opportunities include: leading art projects, assisting teachers, working in the office, and helping us with our upcoming fundraiser. The Station North Fleamarket is located in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District directly opposite the Charles Theater in the 1700 Block of North Charles street. On-going: Every 1st Saturday throughout the spring, summer and fall. Fees: None. Station North Fleamarket is a community based fleamarket open to city wide neighborhood yard sales, community groups and individuals as well as Craftspeople. Artists and Fleamarket dealers. The neighborhood or individual has the advantage of not having to do any advertising, placing of advertising boards, tables etc. The Station North Fleamarket offers broad attraction with a variety of vendors as well as entertainment. The Fleamarket is well attended by a diverse clientele from varied income groups. The market is secure with convenient parking for vendors and customers in a popular central downtown location close to several Baltimore City cultural attractions.
