Help GBCA to Continue Stregthening and Advocating on Behalf of the Creative Sector

Executive Director's Letter
December 9, 2014

It’s the holiday season and many of us are thinking about the end of the year and saying goodbye to 2014. In addition to supporting our members with your patronage and gifts, we at GBCA hope you will be a part of our work by becoming a member and/or making a generous contribution. Your support will help GBCA to continue strengthening and advocating on behalf of the creative sector.

And, if you make a gift now, it will be fully matched with a generous contribution from The Aaron and Lillie Straus Foundation.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store for 2015:

It’s not too late to apply to be part of the DeVos Institute’s Capacity Building: Baltimore. Submit your application now to be a part of a two-year, world-class arts management-training program.

In April, GBCA will host the Association of Performing Arts Service Organizations (APASO) conference. This is a great opportunity for area arts service organizations to meet and learn with their national (and international) counterparts.

Brown Bag sessions will continue with thought-provoking topics such as the arts and healing as well as practical advice on things like taxes and fundraising.

The Baker Artist Award winners for 2014 and 2015 will have a combined show at the Baltimore Museum of Art in September.

Many of our Rubys grant winners are warming up for performances and presentations in the New Year.

The Urban Arts Leadership Program Fellows will be working at partner organizations this spring and by summer; GBCA will be accepting applications for the 2015-16 class and partner organizations.

You should also mark your calendar for the 2015 Baltimore Innovation Week, September 25 through October 3. The event has grown exponentially in just a few short years and we are seeing more and more ways for the arts and tech communities to collaborate.

We hope you'll consider a 2014 gift to GBCA (remember that match!).

Looking forward to seeing even more of you in the coming year,

Jeannie
