RUBYS Artist Update - Media Arts - A. Moon

2015 grantee A. Moon received a Ruby to support I Am Learning to Abandon the World, a 16mm, silent film composed of the non-explicit shots culled from a trove of vintage “adult” films. While working on this project, Moon has also been preparing new work for 5x5: Five Musicians-Five Filmmakers-Five Minutes, a live event marrying video projection and a live music performance taking place on April 24 at the Riverdale Mansion in Riverdale Park, Maryland.

The Rubys Artist Project Grant program was established by GBCA in 2013 to support the region’s gems - the local creative community of performing, visual, media and literary artists. Created with the vision and initial funding from the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, the Rubys value art making at the idea stage and supports local artists here and now.
