New Vocal Music Series Brings the Sounds of Summer to Roland Park

Charm City’s newest vocal music series, Baltimore Musicales, presents “Summer Enchantment”--songs of love, lust, and heartbreak by Debussy, Strauss, Granados, and more--on Sunday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 5802 Roland Avenue in Baltimore. No tickets are required, suggested donation is $10.

Experience “performers with easy, conversational rapport with their audience, stage presence and exquisite voices” in a “diverse and energetic program” (Baltimore Messenger), and enjoy a glass of sangria with the artists after the hour of music.

ABOUT BALTIMORE MUSICALES
Baltimore Musicales is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to preserving the art of the song recital. Our bimonthly performances showcase some of the area’s finest singers in operatic arias and ensembles, art songs, and musical theater at the First Christian Church in Baltimore. In this intimate venue, we break the traditional boundaries between concert-goers and performers. Singers share the meanings behind poetry and librettos, biographical information about the composers, and historical and literary contexts, allowing listeners to form deeper and more personal connections to the music.

Through accessible, engaging, and diverse programs, we introduce audiences to works they may have never heard before, and most importantly, to the experience of hearing the unamplified human voice. We hope to cultivate new audiences for these genres in addition to building a sense of community through these shared experiences.
