In June 2018, the Walters will re-open One West Mount Vernon Place, the historic house that is part of the Walters campus. With the revitalization of One West, the Walters is taking a dynamic new approach to the presentation of art while preserving a building that is an architectural treasure all undertaken with the goal of enriching the visitor experience.

Walters Art Museum seeks Assistant Curator - Art of East Asia

The Walters Art Museum seeks to hire a curator at the Assistant level to oversee a collection of over 9,000 works of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean Art, from the 3rd millennium BCE to the 21st century. The Walters’ collection of East Asian art includes ancient bronzes, arms and armor, carved jades, porcelains, ivories, important Buddhist sculptures, paintings, calligraphies, and prints. These works of art are core to a historic collection amassed by William (1819-94) and Henry Walters (1848-1931), and eventually bequeathed to the City of Baltimore.

Baltimore Museum of Art seeks Part-time Community Engagement Coordinator

OVERVIEW

The BMA is seeking a dynamic and innovative Community Engagement Coordinator. This 3 year, part-time, position reports to the Director of Public Engagement & Interpretation in the Education Division.

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be the liaison between the BMA and its public. The position facilitates outreach efforts at the BMA Outpost through site-specific residencies with community partners, organizations, and institutions.

The Strand Theater Company announces auditions for the opening production of its 10th Anniversary Season, “Origin of the Species” by Bryony Lavery. Directed by Erin Riley.

Synopsis: Molly is an older English lady who digs up her ancestor: a four-million-year-old woman, miraculously alive. Molly names her Victoria and smuggles her home to Yorkshire. Clocks – biological and other – tick away in this engaging two-hander that digs deep beneath the sands of time to discover that we are all brothers and sisters under the skin.

Inventory Controller

Position:

Inventory Controller is responsible for inventorying the artwork for three fast paced art galleries including unpacking crates, photographing the art, creating database entries for art, and wrapping the art for transport.

Successful candidates must be detail oriented, self motivated, good with numbers, and good with photography. Carpentry skills are a plus.
