At just 23 years of age, Nazir Ebo was declared, “the Philadelphia jazz scene’s next breakthrough talent” by WRTI. The second drum prodigy to emerge from his West Philadelphia home, following older brother Justin Faulkner of the Branford Marsalis Quartet, Ebo has become an in-demand sideman for such greats as Joshua Redman, Soweto Kinch, George Burton, and Salami Rose Joe Louis.

Shipp has been referred to as the "elder statesman" of avant-jazz by DownBeat magazine, but the reach and scope of his music extends much further than mere genre. The Cosmic Piano delivers on that promise - a solo recording that taps into the deeper exploratory potential of the instrument, with Shipp channeling a lifetime of knowledge and a daunting array of influences into nearly an hour of spontaneous, enlightened and joyfully rendered music.

Vibraphonist and multi-instrumentalist Warren Wolf is an international touring musician, recording artist, and music professor at Peabody Conservatory and San Francisco Conservatory. Classically trained Helen Sung is an acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, recording artist, and a Guggenheim Fellow. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the performers after the show. Free parking. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) film screening
Five friends head out to rural Texas to visit the grave of a grandfather. On the way they stumble across what appears to be a deserted house, only to discover something sinister within. Something armed with a chainsaw.

Over six weeks, you will develop the core skills needed to host and perform a professional showcase of improv comedy. Highwire Improv’s expert instructors will be with you every step of the way, holding the space to make silly choices, explore comedy, and learn how to create art together. By the end of the class, you will be an ensemble ready to host and put on a full student showcase!
