Please join us as we come together to learn about our rights as tenants and workers as local policies change in light of the Covid-19 crisis. Topics include, housing and eviction, unemployment, and worker health and safety.
This training is part of the Fair Development Roundtable's mutual aid initiative to collectivize the work needed to meet community needs while we organize to demand a rent and foreclosure freeze, move all homeless out of shelters and encampments to hotels, and to expand resources for food distribution.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the continuous onslaught of Anti-Black racism, and increased visibility and protest against police brutality, it can be difficult to find cause for celebration.
While keeping our eyes on the prize of eradicating racism and ensuring social justice, we must also find ways to tap into Joy!
Please join BRJA as we learn, discuss, and celebrate JUNETEENTH!
Whether you are learning about the holiday or are familiar with it and want to celebrate, we ESPECIALLY welcome Black people to come and celebrate this time with us!
SUBMISSION WINDOW: Friday, June 19 - Friday, July 10

MAP is very excited to announce that it will still be holding Out of Order, only this year it's virtual!

Juneteenth is a day of reflection, a day of renewal, a pride-filled day. It is a moment to appreciate the African American experience. It is inclusive of all races, ethnicities and nationalities. Juneteenth serves as a reference point from which to measure and appreciate the progress and contributions made by African Americans to our society. The Juneteenth Celebration, now in its ninth year, grows larger every year. During the celebration, there are several opportunities to experience art and art performance though exhibitions, artisans, family art activities, music, dance and more.
The Global Theatre Project invites you to a live-stream event celebrating Juneteenth starting at 3:00 and likely going until 6:30
Music, poetry, discussion, performance along with any input you may like to add in the comment boxes will be folded into what we hope will be a relaxed but dynamic experience for everyone.
Artists, educators and workers in the community renewal sector from Baltimore, New York, Los Angles and England share their insightful and generous experience and talent.
Calling all Arena Players supporters of the past and present!
Join us on Juneteenth, Friday, June 19, 2020, as we celebrate the contributions of our ancestors and discuss how to continue a legacy of art and activism.
