This Saturday, October 30th, Le Mondo presents WOLFTHICKET, a new dance piece exploring a simple yet vast question: why do we dance?
During this exploration, WOLFTHICKET hops and skips across time and place, with inspiration drawn from the traditions, rituals, and fantasies of the 'girls games', such as hand clapping games, recess activities, and make-believe. It then evolves into more adult forms of play, like vaudeville and the joyful catharsis of club culture.
Baltimore Center Stage is teaming up with Creative Alliance for a one-night-only spectacular interactive movie night of the timeless cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show featuring live performers, a costume contest and a whole lot of fishnet. Tickets are on sale now! Get yours today!
Let's celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) by touring the exhibit at the Walters Art Museum entitled "Translations and Transitions / Traducciones y Transiciones: A Celebration of Mexican and Central American Independence (1821–2021)." Visitaremos la exhibición charlando en español. Free admission. You can also contribute to the Community Altar on view, designed by Baltimore artist Edgar Reyes.
About the Exhibit
Join us at the Baltimore Museum of Art for an evening inspired by Juan Gris, a pioneering and revolutionary contributor to the Cubist movement.
The program begins with a performance by PostClassical Ensemble, produced in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain and conducted by music director Angel Gil-Ordóñez. After the performance, take a deep dive into several of Gris’ works through a dynamically illustrated lecture by Dr. Harry Cooper, senior curator and head of modern art at the National Gallery of Art in DC.
RSVP required.
Join us for the opening reception of Robinson Munoz: Landscapes of the Spirit. Chilean artist Robinson Munoz believes that we discover by seeing as a child sees, unhindered by training or indoctrination. His rich and colorful abstract paintings are the result of his efforts to discover what one can see when doing so without preconceived intermediaries.
The show runs from November 4 – 28. The gallery is open daily by appointment. Email [email protected] or call / text 805-705-2305.
In Plain Sight(site) is an ongoing immersive performance series at Le Mondo. Each iteration of the event features a different cycle of multidisciplinary local artists exploring the concept of portals and doorways to other realities.
Shape-shifting between times and dimensions, these artists conjure visions that question our sight, embody the present impossible, and transport us into the unknown.
Join Baltimore Center Stage on Nov 5th for a new Friday-night concert series! In this live performance, BCS Sound Check features Be Steadwell - a musician, filmmaker, and storyteller.
Submersive Productions returns to public view November 6th & 7th with “rECHOllection," a FREE and open-ended outdoor theatrical experience in Druid Hill Park at the Latrobe Pavillion. Stay as long or briefly as you'd like. Follow any character that interests you. Stay masked, stay distanced, stay curious.

New works by Lauren Frances Adams, Mequitta Ahuja, Cindy Cheng, and LaToya Hobbs—all past recipients of Joan Mitchell Foundation recognition with connections to Baltimore—emphasize the importance of continued support for artists at all stages in their careers. Whether through the shifting boundaries between self and other, contemplations about the cycles of life, or provocations to the public about shared histories, each artist engages deeply with vital aspects of contemporary culture.
Suzanne F. Cohen’s (1935–2018) extraordinary leadership and enduring support for the BMA touched every area of the Museum. In addition to chairing the Board and numerous Trustee committees, Cohen helped establish an endowment for free admission and funded many exhibitions, commissions, restorations, public programs, and gifts of art.
