Globally lauded for her Baroque artistry, Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt won the prestigious City of Leipzig Bach Medal in 2020 and The Daily Telegraph has praised her “crispness and clarity” and “exquisite precision.” Her mastery shines in a program of Baroque brilliance: two adventurous Bach works, the fiery virtuosity of Scarlatti, and Rameau’s elegant Suite No. 2 – her Hyperion recording of which The Times (London) hailed as “magnificent.”

Baltimore-based saxophonist and composer Liam Hurlbut presents an original song cycle on the theme of “Romance and the Blues” featuring his all-star quintet of some of Baltimore's finest musicians. Specially curated for this performance space, this group will explore some deeply emotional compositions in a modern jazz style. This is certain to be a concert you will not want to miss.

THE OTHER SIDE OF HOLLYWOOD is a free adaptation of DELI DUMRUL, one of the oldest Turkish literary works, believed to have been written in the 10th century as part of the DEDE KORKUT stories. Lancelot Chimera is an electroacoustic concerto for amplified bassoon and tape about games, the apocalypse, and transforming into something else. This is music about individuality and agency and the smell of the earth and good times.

Every Lancelot will be a perfect knight turned away by God at the threshold of the holy grail for the sin of adultery. Every Chimera will be created to rage into a multiplex of animal chaos. Every concerto is a confrontation between an individual and a mass, but what if these two bodies are the same?
