Orchester Praževica’s high energy music draws on Eastern European, Balkan, jazz, and other musical traditions. The band’s director is Tomáš Drgoň, a Slovak born and raised musician who is a cornerstone of Baltimore’s music scene.
The event will also be a chance to hear from My Odessa curator Liora Ostroff, to share a story or reflection with the Museum’s Storybooth, and the last chance to see Ladyzhensky’s paintings in person.

Composed in the late 1600s, John Blow’s adaptation of the Venus & Adonis myth is believed to be the earliest surviving English opera. Written originally as a court entertainment for King Charles, the work is a sparkling glimpse into the period that still enchants audiences today.

A native of Shanghai, China, violinist Lun Li won First Prize in the 2021 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, The Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize, the Buffalo Chamber Music Society Prize, and was named John French Violin Chair at YCA. He is also the recent joint winner of First Prize at the Lillian and Maurice Barbash J.S. Bach Competition. Further accolades include winning second prize in Shanghai’s Haydn Chamber Competition, resulting in an invitation to perform at the Helsinki Music Centre Festival.
Maryland Winds is a professional concert band based in Howard County that exists to bring world-class wind band music to the residents of Maryland. Its musicians and conductor, Timothy J. Holtan, perform at the highest levels while sharing their love of music with students, music educators, and enthusiastic audiences through clinics, masterclasses, and public performances on par with the world’s finest performing ensembles.

Their work includes dolls and puppets made of fabric, wood, papier-mâché, ceramic, air-dried clay, found items, and so, so much more.
