Two of the greatest bands of all time face off in a high-energy, adrenaline-pumping musical showdown. The Fab Four, represented by tribute band Abbey Road will engage in a barrage of hits against premier Rolling Stones tribute band Satisfaction.

With music by Henry Purcell, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream transforms into a classic airwave drama, featuring a Grammy Award-winning international cast and orchestra. This new work immerses audiences and performers in an old-fashioned radio studio experience, complete with ON-AIR/OFF-AIR and APPLAUSE signs as well as an onstage Foley artist enriching the performance with live sound effects. The result is a nostalgic, feel-good romp to start the holiday season with laughter and magic.

Baltimore native André De Shields, winner of the 2019 Tony Award® for Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Hadestown), returns to his hometown to tell the story of Charm City and its influence on his journey to personal success, alongside the BSO.

Holst's The Planets is a thrill ride through the solar system, and is actually a series of tone poems about war and peace, love and joy, and life and death. In "My Sister's Voice" by Reena Esmail, a Hindustani singer and a Western soprano join together in a ravishingly beautiful story of crossing cultures. And, Vaughan Williams' work inspired by English Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis features the lush sound of the Columbia Orchestra strings. Enjoy this masterpiece in person at the Jim Rouse Theatre or virtually from the comfort of your own home!

On her debut album Alone At Last, Tasha celebrates the radical political act of being exquisitely gentle with yourself. For years, the Chicago songwriter has dreamed hard of a better world -- she's worked with the local racial justice organization Black Youth Project 100 and has been on the front lines at protests around the city. But as she returned to the guitar, an instrument her mother first taught her to play when she was 15 years old, she began exploring the ways music can be a powerful force for healing.
Our special children’s program Christmas for Kids will make its return with a brand-new twist, featuring Synetic Theater in collaboration with Young Audiences of Maryland. This performance is OUTDOORS, you may bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Lawn chairs available to rent at venue.
Join us for a special Winter celebration of our ancestors and the traditions that unite us. Learn about traditional ancestral veneration practices across cultures, open your heart to the wisdom of the Elder Circle, and appreciate performances and presentations that remember, revere, and celebrate those that have passed on. This program is led by Yoruba Priestess Iya Keturah and will include a special Masquerade dance by members of her Ile (West African Traditional Spiritual Community), as well as presentations from members of other ethnic and spiritual communities .
The chorus joyously returns to the stage to perform Charpentier’s beautiful Messe De Minuit Pour Noël, selected movements from Bach’s Cantata 140, Sleepers Awake, Mozart’s Litaniae Lauretanae, and several lovely holiday pieces including a special arrangement of “The Holly and the Ivy” by Ola Gjeilo. The HCS will be accompanied by a professional chamber orchestra and organist.
