What is the cost when we sacrifice truth for success? Can radical love be pious, or merely provocative? Does every religion sell God for a price? The Hagen Quartet is one of today's most distinguished ensembles, praised by The Los Angeles Times as "the ideal string quartet." Opening with Dvořák's tenderhearted Cypresses, they are joined by the astonishing composer and world-class clarinetist Jörg Widmann for the premiere of his own quintet and Mozart's glorious clarinet quintet.

Maryland Center for the Arts & Music Land present BSO violist and series coordinator Peter Minkler, who will coach up to 4 students on the viola on a solo piece of their choice. All experience levels are welcome, elementary through high school. He is also looking for advanced violin, viola, and cello students to form a chamber group to perform following the class. Never taken an improv class before? Well now is your chance to try it out with experienced BIG instructors!
This introductory workshop is designed to give potential students an opportunity to experience what a class is like before committing to a full course.
Through simple, fun and supportive games, participants will explore basic concepts like playfulness, listening and agreement – all in a safe and comfortable group setting geared specifically toward those who are new to improv.
Do you know a child who loves to sing? Children’s Chorus of Maryland (CCM) will hold auditions on March 21st, April 1st and 13th in Towson for children as young as 5 ½ who are interested in participating in an exciting choral performance program. Miles Gannett is a singer-songwriter/guitarist who has been writing and performing music since his single-digit years. He crafted his early tunes in the style and spirit of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll. As a teenager, his production of electronic music let him dive into the sounds and writing styles of classic psychedelia. In his early twenties, Miles played in the Krautrock-influenced experimental band Zeug and was the original lead guitarist for Baltimore world-fusion powerhouse, Telesma.
Singer/director Carolyn Black-Sotir brings together a cast of 80 amazing artists to celebrate the centennial birthday of Leonard Bernstein.
As our bodies move, we tell a story. Where we have been, where we are going, what we hold on to, what we let go of. When bodies move in masses, they tell a larger story. Hope, fear, war, famine, the search for a better life. What does it mean to be just one body moving in humanity’s great crowd? This is a movement piece. Prepare to be moved.
The CCBC Dance Company presents their annual spring program exploring new and re-staged works by faculty and guest artists. We are excited to welcome guest artist Jon Lehrer who is setting a new work on the Company.
