DESCRIPTION:Alison Saar was born in Los Angeles, California. She studied a
 rt and art  history at Scripps College and received an MFA from the Otis A
 rt Institute.  Saar received the United States Artist Fellowship in 2012 a
 nd has also been  awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fe
 llowship and two NEA  Fellowships and has exhibited at many galleries and 
 museums, including The  Contemporary , the Hirshhorn Museum and Watts To
 wers Arts Center. Her art is  represented in the collections of the Whitne
 y Museum , Baltimore Museum of  Art, MoMA, and the Met.
