 bration  commemorating the end of slavery within the U.S.\n\nThis June, t
 he Jewish Museum of Maryland, in collaboration with arts and  cultural or
 ganizations across Baltimore, will come together for a community  reading
  of selections from Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African  Am
 erica, 1619 to 2019 (Kendi & Blain, eds, 2021).\n\nDuring the event we 
 will deepen our understanding of the history of the  holiday and explore i
 ts immense, contemporary significance.
