 merican  citizen. In sharing his unique style of silk painting that blends
  elements of  Indonesian traditions with contemporary techniques, he shar
 es the culture of  his homeland, his childhood, his experiences as an im
 migrant in the United  States, and his experiences balancing multiple cul
 tures. Through this  exhibit, Gozal wishes to convey that, no matter whe
 re we end up in this  world, no matter what country we ultimately identif
 y with and call home, our  birthplace makes an indelible mark on who we b
 ecome.
