DESCRIPTION:It’s soul music but it’s something else entirely. Sinkane's Ahm
 ed Gallab  was born to Sudanese political exiles in London but was raised 
 all over the  U.S. and now lives in Brooklyn. Alongside bandmates jaytram 
 on drums, Ish  Montgomery on bass, Jonny Lam on guitar, Sinkane creates
  a deeply soulful  groove layered with sinewy East African melody lines an
 d clear, repetitive  vocal refrains. The result feels a bit like a ‘60s f
 unk romp drenched in  sun and sweat.
