DESCRIPTION:Ellie Works presents The Right Hand Forgets the Left, a body o
 f new paintings  in which images of decay sit beside soccer games, French
  portraiture, bowls  of apples, and bedrooms. Built from experimentation
  and whatever Works drags  back to the studio, from lamp shades to Dunkin
 ’ cups to chair legs, the  paintings carry visible traces of doubt, inde
 cision, and time: faint outlines  of painted over forms, dense textures 
 beside thin fields of color, stranded  staples from material long since r
 emoved. For Works, doubt is as structural  to a painting as color or comp
 osition.
