DESCRIPTION:Metal casting involves the transformation of a fluid wax model 
 into an  identical metal reproduction and is one of the most widely used t
 echniques in  the jewelry world. Through a series of demonstrations and le
 ctures, students  will learn wax working skills and casting processes, i
 ncluding rubber mold  making, natural object, vacuum and cuttlefish cast
 ing. The class will also  incorporate metal fabrication skills including s
 oldering, polishing, and  finishing methods. Students will utilize these
  skills to create jewelry and  small-scale sculpture.
