Chesapeake Arts Center seeks Education Coordinator

Title: Education Coordinator

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Experience/Skills Required:

Minimum 1 year experience in arts education program management

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously and meet deadlines on a consistent schedule

Computer literacy to include competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Calendar, and web-based software programs

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; equivalent professional experience may be substituted

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Education Coordinator will:

Work closely with the COO to develop three semesters of quality arts classes; create content for class catalogs and assist Marketing Department with catalog production

Produce teaching artist contracts, background checks, and other essential paperwork for instructors

Calculate instructor pay per class and ensure appropriate full semester pay and pay dates; relay payment requests to Office Manager in a timely manner

Manage student registrations, rosters, and payment information through Showare software system

Maintain private music studio rosters, schedules, invoices, and payments

Manage student scholarship accounts and record keeping

Create/collect class evaluations and attendance sheets to devaluate and document classes each semester

Work with the Marketing Director to advertise classes through digital and print media

Act as liaison between CAC and instructors, parents/students, and Education partners (AACPS, ACDS, AACC, etc.)

Communicate any class scheduling changes (including cancellations) with CAC staff, instructors, and students/families; issue partial or full refunds as appropriate

Organize annual student recitals and exhibitions in conjunction with COO and teaching artists

Keep Education statistics and data up to date

Coordinate after-school programs, including recruitment; communication with schools, instructors, and families; on-site support to ensure smooth operations and provide instructor assistance; and documentation of activities through digital recording and/or written reports

Staff the CAC office on Saturdays when classes are in session

Hours and Compensation:

Full time, Tuesday-Saturday

Salary commensurate with experience
