Zemer Peled Studio is seeking a part time Art Studio Manager to work 2 days per week.
Candidate has to live in Baltimore area. Some of the work can be done at home, candidate doesn't have to be at the studio for all hours (ideally once a week) Availability online and via phone mandatory.
This opportunity offers exposure to the daily operations of a professional artist studio. This is not your traditional office job! Tasks include: general office management, project management, consignment/loan agreements, grant writing, interview writing, managing interns/assistants as needed, managing workshops at the studio, communication with Galleries and Museums.
The ideal candidate should have prior administration or office management experience and exceptional organizational and writing skills. The ideal candidate is interested in arts studio management as a career opportunity and has an excellent work ethic and attitude.
Physical tasks will be asked at times (especially during open studio and workshop events): assistance in moving artwork for studio visits, cleaning the studio etc.
Previous work in an artist studio IS NOT required. You will learn a lot in this position, and work with an amazing team of dedicated art professionals who love what they do.
Update and maintain artwork inventory with comprehensive cataloguing information, images, location, exhibition history, artwork location etc.
Maintain comprehensive studio schedule (exhibitions, artwork production, photography, artist and studio appointments).
Project management assistance (materials sourcing, budgeting, fabrication schedules, packing and shipping logistics)
Maintain exhibition checklists, artist website, CV etc.
Coordinate travel and appointments on behalf of the artist.
Grant writing, copy editing, and copywriting.
Other general studio administrative tasks and errands.
This is a part-time (15-20 hours / week) $20 per hour
