Graphic Design Intern

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Seeks a Graphic Design Intern.

JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for assisting and working with the design team to create print and digital brand materials for the BSO. This position, reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, will work on design assets from departments across the organization. Successful candidates must have 1+ years prior experience working in Adobe CC in a MAC environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to the visual aspects of the BSO style guide.
  • Design assets which may include, but are not limited to, newspaper and magazine advertising, brochures, posters, direct mail, flyers, vinyl banners, printed and digital signage both in and out of home, digital graphics and web ads.
  • Quickly and creatively assess needs and develop materials as requested by Marketing and other departments.
  • Help catalog and organize photos and design files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES

  • Experience with Adobe CC, Dropbox, and Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter who takes direction well.
  • Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with project management tools.
  • Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Interest in the arts/symphonic music is a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a Spring Internship (prefer January through May commitment). Intern must have own laptop. The internship is hybrid with at least one day in the office. All BSO staff and musicians are required to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask when in the office according to Baltimore City health guidelines.
