CAC seeks Director of Marketing & Development

Background:

CAC seeks an enthusiastic, ambitious, and goal-oriented Director of Marketing and Development who is passionate about how the power of arts can facilitate community connections and bring people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and cultures together. This is a full-time exempt position that is grant funded for one year with the possibility to extend beyond that time period. Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position manages two part time marketing positions and one part time development position.

Duties and Responsibilities: Development

  • In consultation with the Executive Director and other key staff, develop fundraising plans in support of CAC strategic plan goals, quantifiable outcomes, and timelines.
  • Research, write, submit, and secure programmatic and capacity building grants and write and submit associated grant reports.
  • Plan, supervise, and grow CAC’s development programs and oversee cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and acknowledgements of corporate, individual, and family foundation support.
  • Direct the Director of Development in executing CAC development goals.

Duties and Responsibilities: Marketing

  • In consultation with the Executive Director and other key staff, develop marketing plans in support of CAC strategic plan goals, quantifiable outcomes, and timelines.
  • Collaborate across all CAC departments to brand and promote CAC education programs, events, performances, exhibitions, and other programs. Create unified messaging and oversee related marketing and promotional activities to generate engagement, sales, and audience participation.
  • Directs the creation, production, and distribution of all marketing materials such as press releases, newsletters, publications (print and digital), and social media messages.
  • Directs the marketing staff in executing and evaluating all marketing activities.
  • Work with the Executive Director and Board of Director’s Resource Development Committee to review, monitor and assess fund raising programs, and identify meaningful ways for Board members to participate in revenue-generating activities.
  • Represent CAC at varied community events and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum five years proven and measurable experience in developing and implementing a wide variety of fundraising and/or marketing programs for non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills
  • Major gift solicitation experience or grant writing experience
  • Knowledge of the Anne Arundel County/Baltimore cultural community is helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional personnel.
  • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary: The salary range for this position is low to mid $60s depending on experience

  • Eligible for retirement plan once minimum requirements are met.
  • Life insurance equal to $50,000 and $100,000 for accidental death based on salary.
  • Up to 15 paid holidays including paid leave for the week between Christmas and New Year
