The Crabfeast Stand-Up Comedy Show w/ Ryan Sickler & Jay Larson

The Crabfeast Stand-Up Comedy Show w/ Ryan Sickler & Jay Larson

Baltimore’s own Ryan Sickler, now living in LA, and comedian Jay Larson, have been building a strong reputation with their podcast The CrabFeast. Tonight, the two ditch the podcast format for a night of blistering standup and storytelling.

On the podcast, chemistry between Ryan and Jay enables them to take the conversation anywhere, often making light of some heavier subjects. They make their guests feel like family and their listeners feel like they’re sitting around sharing stories with old friends. They’ll bring that same aura of comfort and warmth to the Creative Alliance. Pull up a chair, grab a coupla cold ones, and enjoy The Feast!

8pm | $18, $15 mbrs | + $3 at the door

About Ryan Sickler:

If the adage is true — that tragedy plus time equals comedy — then Ryan Sickler has paid his dues on the left side of the equation. Born in Baltimore, Ryan lost his father when he was 16. After that, he bounced from one relative to another. And while his early years might have seemed rocky, that tumultuous childhood gave him both fodder for material and armor against the relentless onslaught that is life as a standup comic.

His television appearances include Ovation’s The Art of: Comedy, Comics Unleashed, TBS’s The Pete Holmes Show, Comedy Central’s Tosh.O, Live At Gothamand Cutman and CBS’s The Late Late Show. Ryan is also an informed sports fan and appeared as a regular on Fox Sports.

About Jay Larson:

Jay Larson is best known for his multiple appearances on The Late Late Show, four appearances on Conan and his own half hour special on Comedy Central. Jay’s style is completely original and his ability to connect to an audience through storytelling is unmatched. As a storyteller his “Wrong Number” story went viral after climbing to #1 on Reddit and was also featured on “This American Life” with Ira Glass claiming, “Perfect Comedy, Perfect Storytelling…” Jay’s story telling has also been featured on Comedy Central’s “This is Not Happening” and can be heard every Toozdee on his wildly successful podcast, The CrabFeast. Jay’s first album, “Self Diagnosed” was released in 2011 by AST records and his follow up album, “Human Math” is set to release in the fall.
