Brandon Woody is an 18 year old jazz, classical trumpet player/ composer from Baltimore, and an Alumni of Baltimore School for the Arts and Peabody Preparatory. Brandon is currently attending the Brubeck Institute which is a full scholarship Jazz program in California. Brandon has won numerous competitions such as Young Arts, BSA Concerto competition, Peabody Concerto Competition, and the Shenandoah Jazz Soloists Competition. Brandon currently studies with Ambrose Akinmusire. Brandon has played with Benny Maupin, Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Perez, John Pattituci, Ed Simon, Carmen Bradford, Sean Jones, Dontae Winslow, Warren Wolf, Kriss Funn, Todd Marcus and many more. Brandon has performed at venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Meyerhoff, The Lyric Opera House, The Kimmel Center, Marthas Vineyard Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Watts Tower Jazz Fest LA, An die Musik, Twins Jazz Club, and Wally's, Brandon recently opened for the Newport Jazz Festival, and performed with the Danilo Perez Band.
