Mondo Birthday Bash!
Le Mondo welcomes AS220’s Bert Crenca to Baltimore and celebrates our birthday
A night of celebration, discussion, and empowerment in the artistic community
March 16th is a big day for Le Mondo! Not only does it mark the 101st bday of our building at 404-406 N Howard (initially opened as The Strand theatre in 1916), but we will also be celebrating the closing of our fundraising campaign (donate here!). Additionally, we welcome globally shown artist and visionary leader, Bert Crenca, founder and artistic director of AS220 in Providence, RI.
Bert opened AS220 in 1985 “on the principle that freedom of expression is crucial for the development of strong communities and individual spirits.” Here in Baltimore we look to what Bert has created as a model for guiding the relationship between the arts, revitalization, and political action.
He will be presenting his experiences over a two-day visit, which will include a cocktail hour, dinner, and tour of Le Mondo. Events will occur as follows.
March 16
6 pm -Free Cocktail Hour followed by discussion with Bert Crenca at Le Mondo

7:30 pm -Fundraising Dinner with Bert at Current Gallery.
