It is based on a hymn by Paul Speratus. Widerstehe doch der Sünde (Just resist sin) is Bach’s first surviving cantata for a solo voice. This performance features one of the most sought after countertenors worldwide, Charles Humphries. Christopher Schroeder will open the program as the organ soloist for the magnificent Handel Organ Concerto.
