With masterful musicianship and a supreme joy in the beauty of traditional music, Molly Mason and Jay Ungar are one of the most acclaimed musical duos in American roots music today. Jay's composition, Ashokan Farewell, became the musical hallmark of Ken Burns' The Civil War on PBS. The soundtrack won a Grammy and Ashokan Farewell was nominated for an Emmy.
Multi-instrumentalist Jay and Molly on guitar and vocals are musicians of enormous talent who draw their repertoire from 19th-century classics, lively Appalachian, Cajun, and Celtic fiddle tunes and favorites from the golden age of country and swing, along with their own songs, fiddle tunes, and orchestral compositions.

Recently, Jay and Molly have reached a widening audience appearing on Great Performances, A Prairie Home Companion, and their own public radio specials. They've performed at the White House for two Presidents and continue to tour across the country.
