Everly Brothers Tribute

Sons of a coal miner turned radio host, Phil and Don Everlys’ huge hits in the early fifties brought the close harmony singing of Appalachia into the soon to be born world of rock and roll. Their fans started with The Beatles, The Byrds, Simon and Garfunkel, and rolled on to include Norah Jones and Bonnie Prince Billy (both have recent Everly’s tribute discs to their credit.) Wake Up Little Suzy, Cathy’s Clown and Phil’s song - When Will I Be Loved, have been imprinted on American consciousness. Tonite an All- Star lineup of mid-Atlantic musicians honor these talented brothers with sublime duo harmonies.
Trad country singer Karen Collins and her Backroads Band host a stellar evening of harmony singing. Lead singer and guitarist for the renowned bluegrass band The Seldom Scene, Dudley Connell sings with his life partner, musician and vocalist Sally Love. Acclaimed bluegrass vocalist Dede Wyland sings with her friend Bill Williams. Singer songwriter, accomplished harmonizer and CA favorite Linda Nelson sings with one of her favorite musicians - Rob Thorworth. Teenage fraternal twins Brian and Jeff Brown-Hill share true brother harmonies (and solid guitar work) as The McTell Brothers. Expect a loving tribute by talented musicians paying respect to two American musical icons. 8pm. $18, $16 members
