Alex Brown Quartet

Alex Brown Quartet

Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Alex Brown is emerging at the forefront of a new generation of artists. The New York Times says he plays “with a crystalline touch and a worldly approach.” He has played with revered Latin Jazz great Paquito D'Rivera since 2007 and contributed arrangements to D'Rivera's Grammy award-winning album Jazz Meets the Classics. Brown has performed at many of the world's greatest venues including Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. He holds a B.M. from the New England Conservatory and a master’s in composition from University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. This year Brown joins the faculty of the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, as a Visiting Artist in Jazz Studies and area jazz lovers will have an opportunity to hear more of this world-traveled artist. Steel pan virtuoso Victor Provost joins Brown in this program. To order tickets, search Prince Georges County PARKS DIRECT online and click on "Ticketing"
