Peabody joins the celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s centennial with a full staging of his dramatic, theatrical, evening-length concert work, MASS, not performed in Baltimore since 2008. Bernstein's MASS brings together hundreds of singers, dancers, and players from across our community in a spectacular melding of genres -- classical, jazz, rock, dance, and theater -- with Chicago Fire star and Peabody alumnus Curtis Bannister as The Celebrant. The performance marks Maestra Alsop's final performance of MASS in Bernstein's centennial year, following acclaimed stagings in London and at Chicago's Ravinia Festival.
