Korean Movie Screening & Social: I Saw The Devil

Korean Movie Screening & Social: I Saw The Devil

The Baltimore Korean Movie Series presents another modern classic of Korean cinema, I Saw The Devil, as the Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. continues its regional outreach with a free series of milestone films at Parkway Theatre in Baltimore, in partnership with the Maryland Film Festival.

The embodiment of evil, Kyung-chul (Choi Min-sik) is a dangerous psychopath who kills for pleasure. On a freezing, snowy night, his latest victim is the beautiful Juyeon, daughter of a retired police chief and pregnant fiancée of elite special agent Soo-hyun (Lee Byung-hun). Obsessed with revenge, Soo-hyun is determined to track down the murderer, even if doing so means becoming a monster himself.

From director Kim Jee-woon, I Saw the Devil (2010) is a violent and stunningly accomplished tale of murder and revenge, seamlessly blending the thriller, action, and horror genres. Character-driven rather than plot-driven, the film showcases the talent of its A-list cast.

Light Korean Food will be provided at 6:30 p.m. before the film is screened.

This film is Rated R. For mature audiences. 141 minutes. In Korean with English subtitles.
