Go With Mixolo: An open-air production of Love's Labour's Lost

You can keep company with Mixolo solos and theater enthusiasts for an evening under the stars for Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s outdoor performance of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. Join us at our reserved picnic tables while we enjoy this open-air production in the stunning Patapsco Female Institute, the stabilized ruins of a girls’ finishing school, now the summer home of the theater company.

Witness tales of love with hilarious twists for King Ferdinand and his court of bachelor nobles who have sworn off women and romance, banning them from the court for their three years of study. You can watch this classic comedy of errors unfold as the men struggle with their oaths when confronted with Princess of France and her entourage of ladies arrive to speak with the king about important cessation matters. Bouts of hilarity and delight are inevitable during the performance with antics from the slapstick to the fantastical.

One of Shakespeare’s early works and most enduring comedies, this performance of Love's Labour's Lost in the great outdoors is a rare treat for Shakespeare enthusiasts and the perfect “gateway” play for Shakespeare newbies or skeptics. Escape - not too far away - to witness this classic comedy coming to life among the stars on a summer night in the woods at the highest point in Old Ellicott City, Maryland.
