Songs of 1969 w/ Fractal Cat and Guests

Songs of 1969 w/ Fractal Cat and Guests

Following 2018’s sold-out show celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, Baltimore’s psychedelic rockers, Fractal Cat, return to the Creative Alliance on August 9, 2019 for an unforgettable evening celebrating the music that defined a generation. From the first man on the moon to half a million strong at Woodstock, the band performs songs that defined the watershed moments of 1969.

We will begin the evening with a set of original music from Fractal Cat’s three albums of original material. For the second set, they will share stories and visuals inspired by 1969—the major films and concerts, the cultural and political events—as they perform handpicked songs from that pivotal year. Expect hits by the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and much more!

Fractal Cat has been a staple of Baltimore music for over five years. They have performed at Light City, Stoop Storytelling Series, Friends of Patterson Park concerts, and have made regular appearances at WTMD studios, including that station’s first-ever album release party. Baltimore Magazine called Fractal Cat one of 50 artists to know in 2018, the Frederick News-Post named their song “Streets Are Burning” Local Song of the Year in 2017, and WTMD Radio voted “Tryptide” one of the top 14 Baltimore songs of the year in 2014.

Special guests for this event include local musicians Jax Martone of Psycho Killers, Quinton Randall, James von Lenz, and Kim Gravatt. The event will also feature a variety of local artists and vendors.
