Vocalist Julie Kurzava and pianist Diane Kinsley return to Germano’s with their new show, Put On a Happy Face.

Swimming against the constant stream of negative news, Julie and Diane bring their brand of joyful effervescence, musical elegance and plenty of humor. They also promise no tragedy, politics, snark, or the like. Yes, there may be some minor heartbreak, but you can expect irresistible melodies, blues infused harmonies and dazzling turns of phrase. Julie and Diane’s seamless collaboration can’t be beat, with Julie’s crystal clear vocals and Diane’s smooth accompaniment, audiences know they’ll leave smiling.

Julie Kurzava is a singer, actor, writer and producer living in the Baltimore area. Skilled in both classical and contemporary music, she is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory. Her performance skills and encyclopedic knowledge of musical theater history have made her a popular lecturer throughout the Baltimore and DC areas. A seasoned actress, she is cofounder and Executive Director of New Moon Theater, a professional touring theater for children and family audiences (www.nmtheater.org). Julie taught voice at Loyola University Maryland for many years and currently maintains a private studio.

Colorado native Diane Kinsley earned her Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, and she is currently a member of the piano faculty at Anne Arundel Community College. Widely known as a collaborative artist, Ms. Kinsley is also a regular collaborator and performer with area opera companies. She maintains a private piano studio and is an organist at the US Naval Academy Chapel. She freelances in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, and performs as soloist and ensemble artist throughout the United States.
