Goucher Young Writers' Camp
A one-week creative writing and college essay workshop for high school students who love to write!
SESSION
Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 10, 2020, 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
PROGRAMMING
Students in the Young Writers' Camp will:
Participate in an intensive personal essay writing workshop as they prepare their college essays; study various genres of creative writing with published authors; virtually explore Goucher campus and college life; receive feedback on their writing from peers and instructors; and create an anthology of student writing.
Our schedule will include a balance of live online instruction, peer collaboration, and writing projects to be accomplished at the student’s own speed.
INSTRUCTOR
Will Schutt is the author of "Westerly", a collection of poems selected for the Yale Series of Younger Poets, and the translator of "My Life, I Lapped It Up: Selected Poems of Edoardo Sanguineti" (Oberlin College Press, 2018) and Fabio Genovesi's novel "The Breaking of a Wave" (Europa Editions, 2017), among other works of literature. The recipient of several awards and fellowships, he is a lecturer in creative writing at Goucher College.
LOCATION
All activities will be hosted on the Zoom video conferencing platform. Students should have access to reliable high-speed internet.
