If you want to write like a writer, you have to read like a writer. In this fiction workshop, participants will read excerpts from modern day masters with an eye towards their form and technique. Examine dialogue, character development, word choice, tension, climax, and more. Instructor and Creative Alliance resident writer Amanda Fiore will teach you how to apply these techniques to your own work to enhance your arsenal of writing tricks. She will also share samples of fiction that exemplify these techniques. Workshop participants will have the chance to discuss the masters, apply their techniques, hear constructive critiques, and participate as featured readers in a reading put on by the Creative Alliance that will be held in the Marquee Lounge. 5 consecutive Tuesdays: October 28, November 4, 11, 18 & 25 | 6:30–7:30pm each night, $25 for all 5 sessions.

Optional reading in the Marquee Lounge on Wednesday, December 3, 8-10pm.
