Hello Strangers CD Release!

Hello Strangers CD Release!

Sisters Larissa and Brechyn Chace make music tinged with the northern-Appalachian roots of their Pennsylvania home and the sophistication of their years in Austin. From American folk traditions, modern indie rock, Texas country-folk, and roots rock, their music is tied together with haunting harmonies that only sisters can create. Tonight Larissa and Brechyn release their first, self-titled CD. Hello Strangers was produced at the award winning IMI Records in Nashville. It features "What You Don't Know," written and sung by Jim Lauderdale; and "Que Sera, Sera," an homage to their grandfather, Ronald Chace, who sang with Doris Day. The sisters are supported by Spencer Pheil on lead guitar, Trent Renshaw on drums, and Tom Hoy on bass. Opening are The Stone Hill All-Stars with adept, original songs in styles, including folk, country, and rhythm & blues. Taking their name from the Baltimore neighborhood where they first met to rehearse, the group is former Polkats band members Paul Margolis on guitar, bass and vocals and John Shock on piano, accordion and vocals. Hoppy Hopkins is on drums; Dan Naiman on bass and saxophone; and Tim Pruitt on guitar. Prepare for a fun night of quality original songs sliding giddily across many great genres of American music. 8pm. $15, $13 mbrs.

Chuck Dauphin of Music News Nashville says of the Hello Strangers new disc…

“This album is just brilliant…..and deserves to be heard… They are just – for lack of a more sophisticated term – damn good. …sonically brilliant…spellbinding harmony…”
