Latin Music Series at Alma Cocina Latina

Latin Music Series at Alma Cocina Latina

Alma Cocina Latina is bringing the sounds of Latin American jazz to Baltimore on Wednesday, August 24th with celebrated Italian-born vocalist Irene Jalenti.

Jalenti, joined by virtuoso guitarist, bandleader, and educator Tom Lagana, will deliver a gripping performance of jazz standards while exploring new layers of emotion and meaning in Latin American music.

Jalenti has over a decade of experience in the D.C. and Baltimore jazz scene, performing with artists like Afro Blue, Esperanza Spalding, the Count Basie Orchestra and Patti Austin. Her smoky, cello-like tone has been heard in venues such as the Apollo Theater, the Kennedy Center, and even the White House for former President Barack Obama.

This performance is part of Alma Cocina Latina’s summer music series, which features the celebrated voices of Latin American music each month. Past performances included Grammy Award-winning artists Cesar Orozco and Jorge Glem along with world-renowned performer Fran Vielma. Through this summer series, guests can enjoy unique sounds and flavorful Venezuelan cuisine in the heart of Station North.

A $10 donation for the music that evening is recommended. Walk-ins will be accepted, but reservations are encouraged. Please make a reservation on Resy.
