Recital and Evensong for Rogation Sunday

The 2022-2023 concert series at St. David's Baltimore concludes with a festival Recital and Evensong featuring chamber and choral music.
Join us Sunday, May 14 at 4:30 pm for the close of the 2022-2023 Music at St. David's concert season. The event celebrates Rogation Sunday – a time of harvest and renewal – beginning with a recital by the Wyvern Trio: Ben Hawker, Tenor; Lavena Johanson, 'Cello; and Douglas Buchanan, Piano. This half-hour, pre-service recital features world premieres of new arrangements of folk material by Hawker and Buchanan.
The Service of Evensong follows at 5:00 pm, featuring music of Herbert Howells (the Collegium Regale canticles), the world premiere of Ben Hawker's Preces and Responses, Lili Boulanger's "Hymn au Soleil," and J.S. Bach's Fugue in D Major, BWV 532b.
The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 4:00 pm. A suggested donation of $15 ($10 retirees & students, no obligation for children 12 and under) directly benefits the musicians and the music series.
