Dance Baltimore 20th Anniversary Celebration

Dance Baltimore is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a FREE event at the beautiful Gordon Center for the Performing Arts in Owings Mills. Once again, a broad array of dance styles and artistic excellence will be showcased on stage—modern, ballet, hip hop, African, Salsa, Flamenco and more. Ensembles that performed 20 years ago in downtown Baltimore will be joined by newcomers on the local dance scene.
Companies to be featured include Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Afrika Speaks, Full Circle Dance Company, Arte Flamenco, Ballet After Dark, Dance & BMore, Dance Baltimore Repertory Ensemble, Bailes de Mi Tierra, VTDance and more. Works by international choreographers Stephanie Powell, Maria Broom, Vincent Thomas and others will also be presented.
Dance Baltimore was founded in 2003 to specifically enhance the role of dance in the Baltimore metropolitan area. To accomplish this mission, the orgniazation focused all efforts in four categories, voiced by the professional dance community at that time:
- to develop audiences
- to increase performance opportunities
- to expand visibility in the media
- to expand networking within the arts and dance communities
The 20th Anniversary Concert is FREE but tickets are required. Celebratory attire welcomed!
