Roots Cafe Singer-Songwriters Series: John Seay & Sage Snider

John Seay and Sage Snider return with a new batch of songs and some old favorites. They will be joined by Roots Café host Geoffrey Himes and Roots Café music director Willem Elsevier for the best in Maryland singing and songwriting.

Livestream passes and student tickets available!

“Put Ansel Adams, John Prine and Ernest Hemingway into a stolen steam locomotive heading to Walden Pond by way of Texas Low Country and Fells Point while scratching songs into wooden walls with a bent nail and bark and you’d have John Seay’s tunes,” says David Morreale of Baltimore’s SNAFU Coffeehouse. “His playing and singing are deceptively simple, but the songs are deep deep deep and heartrendingly beautifully written and sung.” A Baltimore native, Seay is longtime fixture on the Mid-Atlantic acoustic music scene, with a well-earned reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter and master finger-style guitarist. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including country star Charly McClain and Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga (“Miss Saigon”). https://johnseay.bandcamp.com
