From Ally to Every Day Activist: Practical Learning for White People

From Ally to Every Day Activist: Practical Learning for White People

Being a “white ally” has become a self-proclaimed title dependent more on intent than action. How can we as white people break out of the performative comfort of “white alliance” to being “every day activists” for racial justice?

From Ally to Every Day Activist is a workshop series specifically for white people who are interested in building a lasting foundation for the “every day” anti-racism/anti-oppression work that leads to transformative change. Participants will practice using tools for having honest conversations about race and racism, reflect on their own white racial identity, and explore the historical development and contemporary manifestations of racism and white supremacy. This workshop does not seek to develop expertise, but to offer practical learning for white people wanting a deeper, more authentic, and impactful experience on the journey from “allyship” to “every day activist.”

From Ally to Every Day Activist will occur over 4 sessions: April 5, 12, 19, and 26 - from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
