Mother Falcon

18-piece orchestral indie rock band Mother Falcon works off of a foundation of classical and chamber music, incorporating rock elements and styling to create a full, stirring and uplifting sound. The band began while the members were still teenagers, coming together via orchestral and chamber music classes. Composing as a collective, the ensemble earned critical acclaim with the release of their first full length Alhambra. At the 2013 SXSW NPR Music’s Bob Boilen named them one of his “15 Essential Moments From SXSW,″ and Stephen Thompson tapped them as his “favorite young band of the festival’s opening night” on NPR’s “All Things Considered”.
Patterson resident artist Paul Rucker, who is a visual artist, composer, and musician, opens on cello. Rucker is a boundary pushing artist who works with visuals, music and performance, tackles social justice issues with historical research and aesthetic power.
