In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness 2025's call to "Turn Awareness into Action," this exhibition, "Turning Tides," illuminates the lived experiences of Black and Brown artists as they navigate the complex landscape of mental well-being. We move beyond passive observation and delve into the active, transformative power of art as a catalyst for healing, advocacy, and community building.
For too long, the narratives surrounding mental health within Black and Brown communities have been shrouded in stigma, silence, and systemic barriers. This exhibition seeks to disrupt those narratives, offering a vibrant and multifaceted portrayal of resilience, vulnerability, and the unwavering pursuit of well-being. "Turning Tides" showcases artists who are not merely reflecting on their experiences, but actively shaping them by using their creative voices. The exhibit features the following artists:
