New Wave Singers of Baltimore Presents “Sincerely Yours, Pauli Murray,” a Powerful New Dramatic Cantata Honoring Baltimore‑Born Civil Rights Icon.

Baltimore, MD — The New Wave Singers of Baltimore, in partnership with GALA Choruses, is proud to announce the Baltimore premiere of Sincerely Yours, Pauli Murray, a 10‑movement dramatic cantata illuminating the remarkable life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray.

Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray (1910–1985) left an enduring mark on American civil rights history. Murray authored the legal analysis that shaped Thurgood Marshall’s arguments in Brown v. Board of Education. She was first African American woman ordained as an Episcopal priest, and co‑founded the National Organization for Women. Murray wrote with honesty about her/their gender identity, decades before such conversations reached the mainstream.

Sincerely Yours, Pauli Murray brings these achievements and personal reflections to life. “We are honored to present this this work that introduces more people to Dr. Murray’s urgent and inspiring legacy.” said Artistic Director, Christopher Schroeder.

The cantata will be performed at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 North Charles Street on

• Sunday, June 7 at 4 PM

The New Wave Singers will be joined by professional soloists and singers from the Mosaic Community Chorus, the Baltimore Men’s Chorus, the Chancel Choir of Grace UMC, and the Church of the Holy Nativity. Audiences will be invited to stay for a reflective panel discussion with experts to further explore this extraordinary life, moderated by Dr. Kaye Whitehead, historian and host of Today with Dr. Kaye on WEAA/Morgan State University.
