Imagined Worlds

Imagination comes to life on stage as Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) presents an exciting mixed-media project developed by internationally recognized artists in collaboration with BSA students. The program will feature 3-D video mapping, dance and live music.
BSA alumnae Katherine Helen Fisher (’97), director and choreographer, and Nadia Sirota (’00), producer, and are working with composer Marcos Balter, art director David Title, and choreographer Adam Battelstein to create the groundbreaking piece. Inspired by Luigi Serafini’s cult classic, Codex Seraphinianus, the story features a scribe who brings to life a set of twins combined by a conjurer, later released by a beautiful and mysterious priestess. Imagined Worlds includes original orchestral and vocal music and dance as well as 3-D projection mapping that will transform BSA’s Schaefer Ballroom into a spectacular sight. A “shadow dance” will also be featured. In addition to the principal piece, “Codex,” other short pieces created by students in BSA’s state-of-the-art Center for Collaborative Arts & Technology (C-CAT) will be part of the show.
