Ray Wylie Hubbard

Elder Statesman of the unhinged outlaw country vein of Texas songwriters, Ray Wylie Hubbard has been perfecting his brand road-rambling authenticity since he penned the immortal "Up Against the Wall (Redneck Mother)" which Jerry Jeff Walker recorded in 1973. A native of Oklahoma, Hubbard started his journey as a folk singer falling in with the wild and wooly cosmic outlaw 1970s Texas country scene. He gigged consistently throughout the 70s’ and 80s’ but it wasn’t until 1994s’ Loco Gringo’s Lament that garnered him the deserving reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter. He has gone on to record a handful of acclaimed records including 2006’s amazing Snake Farm, and his most recent recording, The Grifter’s Hymnal. He will be performing at the Creative Alliance for this rare Baltimore appearance with a full band. 8pm. Adv: $28,$23 mbrs., Doors: $31, $26 mbrs.
"Hubbard has become one of the best singer songwriters of our time." – Austin Chornicle
