Michael Occhipinti presents The Sicilian Jazz Project. This unique group takes the Old World sounds of the miners, fisherman, and poets and injects them with the New World sounds that freely move between global grooved, jazz and chamber music. The Sicilian Jazz Project is touring this summer with assistance from the Canada Council For The Arts, and is featuring Pilar, a vocalist from Italy, and renowned clarinetist Don Byron, both of whom are featured (along with the Cecilia String Quartet) on the new Sicilian Jazz Project album being released this summer. Pilar is an absolutely stunning vocalist, able to move between art song, Sicilian folk, and world pop (she sings in 5 languages). Join us for this stunning evening.
