ART/SOUND/NOW: Sunatirene & Martina Lynch

This summer a beatboxer, spoken word artist, electronic musician, percussionist, and vocalist will turn the galleries at the Walters into dynamic spaces with music, sound, art, and insightful commentary by museum experts. A new way to experience the museum on Thursday Nights! Open until 9 p.m.
The first concert in the ART/SOUND/NOW series features the electronic music of Sunatirene and the spoken word of Martina Lynch, both Baltimore artists. Sunatirene will be joined by chief curator Rob Mintz for a special tour of the Chamber of Wonders, where they will explore themes of mysticism, exoticism, and religion. Ms. Lynch will be joined by programs manager Alexander Jarman for a unique look at the ancient Egyptian collection, where they will explore the overlap between art, literacy, and justice for the lives of ancient Egyptians as well as the lives of present-day Baltimoreans. Ticket holders will enjoy a private bar, a complimentary drink voucher, and exclusive access to the Museum’s second-floor galleries during this evening of intimate conversation and exciting music.
This performance is part of a three part summer music series. Receive a discount to all three performances if you register for the series.
