The Museum and the Global: Past, Present, Future

A panel of professionals from museums that have undertaken innovative displays in response to new ideas on “globalized” art history will address the opportunities and pitfalls of reinstalling collections that reflect this theme. Through dialogue with the audience, panelists will guide a conversation about how the Walters might use its displays to reflect a broader cultural context.

The Walters Art Museum

You are invited to discover some of the most talented artists from around the globe and across the ages. The Walters Art Museum is one of only a few museums in the world to present a panorama of art from the third millennium B.C. to the early 20th century. The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland is internationally renowned for its collection of art, which was amassed substantially by two men, William and Henry Walters, and eventually bequeathed to the City of Baltimore.
